A Prayer For Family

We are looking forward to this weekend, as our good friend from NJ is coming to stay with us for the next 5 days. Since meeting him about 6 years ago at Creation Festival, we have kept in contact with him back and forth and have visited one another a handful of times, when we can. We always spend a lot of time in prayer and in the Bible when we get together and we have felt God's presence and heard His voice numerous times while doing so. During these next five days, matters of the spirit are sure to be discussed and prayed over, as always.

That said... changes are coming, I believe. There has been a lot of spiritual turmoil and changes, as well as health issues going on in our lives and the lives of our families right now and it seems that it cannot be a coincidence that all of it is going on at the same time. The enemy is fighting very hard to prevent something... he is grasping at every chance he gets to tear us down... to discourage, deflate, and destroy. Because he knows that something is coming, that God is working and moving. And so I pray against this destruction, discouragement, and all of his works of evil against us. I call on God's strength and ask for His protection against these attacks. I pray that He will open our hearts to hear from Him and keep the enemy at bay so that we can fully surrender to His word and His plans. I cast out the evil spirits that will continue, without fail to attack this family unless we stand up and say NO MORE! NO MORE LIES, NO MORE DISSENSION, NO MORE DESTRUCTION! I pray against the spirit of depression, complacency, worthlessness, and selfishness. I pray for surrender, restoration, unity, and progression. God don't look away, keep Your eyes on us and turn our eyes back to You when they go astray. Keep our focus and deliver us from the destruction and division of the enemy. Restore our souls and draw us close, Father. Thank You for Your hand in our lives and Your love in our hearts.

I am continuing to look forward to this weekend, and the coming new year of change, restoration, and progression. There will be ups and downs, there will be trials, and there will be more attacks from the enemy... but I have faith that the Lord will be with us and never leave us, even when we feel alone and abandoned. He reveals Himself when we need it most and in ways we least expect. I only hope and pray that we (and our family and close friends) will be ready and willing and have our eyes and ears open when he does.

Amen
